Welcome to my website and blog! I hope you get some enjoyment from viewing the photography and books on the site. Thank you very much for visiting.
I have recently become very interested in creating abstract art. I have always been attracted to abstract art and if you look at the artwork in my home that I have purchased from others, I notice that it is almost all abstract. So in my work, I have been moving more away from pure representational photography (although I still do some of that work) and toward more creative and unique styles that end up being more abstract in nature. I end up using a combination of digital art and photography to create the abstract work I have been working on lately. Set forth below are some examples.
I am happy to report that my artwork pictured below, "Quartet of Zebras in Lavender”, has been selected to be on exhibition in the Palos Verdes Art Center Gallery, at 5504 W. Crestridge Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, for their Winter Show from December 7, 2018 to January 2, 2019. The Opening and Reception will start at 6 pm on December 7 and the jurist/artist who made the selections for which pieces of art to include in the exhibition will give a tour and explain his thought process for which pieces of art he selected for the exhibition. (I will be very interested to hear his thoughts on my artwork!). There will be a great deal of beautiful artwork at the exhibition, so if you have an interest, it would be fun to go take a look some time between Dec. 7 and Jan. 2. Click here for hours and map: http://pvartcenter.org/about/hoursandmap.htm. Interestingly, the same artwork of mine will be on exhibition in New York in December as well.

SOLD - Announcement by Fine Art America - Kay Kochenderfer recently sold a set of 10 greeting cards of "Giraffe Walking Through Field Of Sunflowers" to a buyer from New York, NY.
Kay took the photograph in Botswana, Africa. She was asked by the David Orgell store in San Marino that carries some of her photography products to develop a safari line of products for them. She wanted to come up with something very creative and unique, rather than just documentary photos from her two safari trips to Botswana and South Africa and one to Zambia. So, during post-processing she used various techniques to make this (and several others) look "fantasy-like" and like a painting. When printed on canvas, which has a somewhat rough surface, it really looks like a painting! Very cool.
